My Travel Makeup Bag | 2016

31.7.16

As I'm going on a one week trip to Paris tomorrow, I thought I would share what's in my travel makeup bag for today's post. Surprisingly,  I was able to fit everything I needed in the Lily England makeup bag that came with the brushes which is great. I pretty much just put in all my holy grail products in there and mostly just put one product of each type of product except for lip products because who keeps only one lip product in their makeup bag?!

foundation.

MAC Studio Fix (NC15) - This is the only foundation which I've actually finished and had to buy a second bottle of and even though my the first bottle was my sister's and she used it at first, it still took me a long time to finish it. It gives the perfect amount of coverage and just looks flawless. I love mixing one pump of this with my Cetaphil moisturizer to make my own 'tinted moisturizer' and I've gotten quite a few compliments on my skin/makeup when I do that.

concealer.

L'Oreal True Match Concealer (Shade 1 & 2) - This concealer is my all time favorite concealer ever. I don't understand why no one ever talks about it? I've been purchasing these for like 3 years now. I love using the  #1 shade for under my eyes and #2 shade for any areas I want to conceal. This concealer is creamy, radiant and hydrating. If you haven't tried it yet, you definitely need to!

powder.

MAC Studio Fix Powder Plus Foundation or MAC Mineralize Skinfinish Natural - In these pictures you see the Mineralize Skinfinish Natural powder which sets my face but gives it a healthy looking glow at the same time. I've actually switched my powder to the Studio Fix one because my skin will already look glowy with the 'tinted moisturizer' I make so I think using this matte powder would be better especially during the summer. I love this powder as it doesn't make my face look too matte (or matte at all really) and it doesn't make it look cakey.

blush.

Chanel Powder Blush (82 Reflex) - This isn't my holy grail blush nor is it my blush at all haha. I've discovered it in my sister's makeup collection and once I tried it out, I fell in love with it. So yes, I'm taking my sister's beautiful blush with me to Paris.

highlighter.

NYX Born to Glow Liquid Illuminator (Sunbeam) - I love putting this on after my foundation and concealer for a natural beautiful glow then applying powder, blush and maybe even another highlighter (I swear I never go overboard with my highlight).

the Balm "Mary Lou Manizer" - Now this is my holy grail highlighter. It's so pigmented and it's the perfect shade of highlight for my skin tone. I love using this with my Real Techniques fan brush.

mascara.

Maybelline Turbo Volume Express Mascara - This isn't necessarily a holy grail product either but it's the one I've been using and loving lately.

eyebrow products.

H&M Eyebrow Shaping - I've never filled in my brows before until two months ago when I decided it was time. It's not that my brows really need filling in but it's always good to fill it in a bit after applying foundation and stuff. We had extras of this H&M one at home so it's the first brow powder I used and I actually really like it. I think it will do just fine as I don't need much filling in. I dip my angled brush in both the black and dark brown shade but never use the light brown one.

Maybelline Brow Drama (Dark Brown) - This used the be the only product I used for my brows and I still use it to set my brows with it. It's great and I would definitely re-purchase or try out another one from the drugstore but I personally don't think it's necessary to buy the one from Benefit or any other high-end brand when there's cheaper ones that do the same job for me.

lips.

MAC Lipstick (Faux & Honeylove) - For pink/mauve lips I thought the shade 'Faux' would be perfect and I've been loving this lipstick these days so I had to take it with me and for a nude, I had to take my trusty lipstick 'Honeylove'.

Revlon Colorbust Lip Butter (Sweet Tart) - This has become a holy grail product in the past few months. I love applying a tad bit of this and making it look like a lip tint rather than the overly-pink look the lipstick actually would give. It's sad that they don't have Revlon in Germany because I would love to get more lip butters!

Sephora Cream Lip Stain (Mandarin Muse) - This is a must-have for me during the summer. It's the perfect orangey-red lip color so of course this has to come with me. I found out they have Sephora there so I might have to check out other shades from this collection ;)

What are some of the products in your travel makeup bag?

  6. I'll be traveling soon, moving actually. I'm packing up to the UK in just a month for my studies. Which means I have to figure out what makeup will be going in my suitcase and which will I bring out and about haha! I think a tinted moisturiser is the best during travel, and if you can DIY with your moisturiser, that's even more awesome!

Hope you're having fun in Paris! <3
