Recent Favorites #1

30.4.16

Hello everyone! Hope everyone's having a great weekend so far :)
As I don't try out too many products every month I don't find it reasonable to do a monthly favorites post so I'm going to start posting 'Recent Favorites' every 3 months starting with this one! I'll be including all the beauty products, skincare products, books, tv shows/seasons, music and other random products I've been loving.

BEAUTY

The first thing I've been loving is the NYX Born to Glow Liquid Illuminator in the shade Sunbeam. This isn't a new product for me but I've picked it up again and forgot how great it was. It gives such a healthy looking glow to your face that actually looks natural unlike all the crazy highlighters that have been coming out recently. This is a product that I will definitely be using during summer too. The next product is the L'Oréal Paris Telescopic Mascara, this has become my all time favorite mascara now. The flexible brush is so precise, lengthens all my lashes and separates them without any clumps. I tried this out from my sister and hunted it down in all stores, with no luck. I did find out later though that they discontinued it and you can only buy the newer versions that aren't as good. I purchased mine from Amazon, if you want to try it out yourself you would need to check online.

Next, I've been loving this nude lip combination which is new for me as I wasn't a big fan of nude lips before. I line my lips and fill them in with the Essence Lipliner 'In The Nude' then apply the MAC Lipstick 'Honeylove' on top and voila.

This Dear Darling Water Tint in Strawberry Ade gives a beautiful tint to my cheeks and lips, perfect for when I'm wearing little or no makeup to make me look livelier. It's a cheaper version of the Benefit one. I like putting this on my cheeks and lips before heading to the gym to look less dull. If shipping to your area is pricey, I suggest that you purchase this through another site than Etude House itself. It's a must-try for sure!

SKINCARE

With no shame, I'm going to say that I've basically been using baby face cream by Penaten for most of my life. I did try out the Cetaphil Face Cream  last year and I loved it, but haven't purchased it again for no reason. I decided it was time that I needed a better face cream that hydrates my skin and I re-purchased it from a pharmacy for 9€, and it's been helping my face stay moisturized all the time. My favorite thing to do with this product is to mix it with a less than one pump of my foundation to make a tinted moisturizer and I love it.

Next, this isn't specifically the product that has been my favorite but it is the brand Anatomicals. You can find their products in Urban Outfitters and I highly recommend their mask 'the hottie tottie is never spotty'. It's such a great mask for 2,60€ and you can get like 4 uses out of it. I used to pick my pimples so I'm left with these scars that not even Roaccutane can get rid of, so this mask has helped it fade a bit. I will have a post on Anatomicals' products soon!

The cleanser that has been doing my skin great justice, is the Clarins Cleansing Milk. It leaves my skin feeling so soft and clean, and it helps get rid of my makeup entirely that my makeup removers can't. I use this with my Konjac Sponge to cleanse my face deeply.

RANDOM

I just love this MUJI Vanilla Candle Can and I am already burning a second one. This scent makes me feel nostalgic and reminds me of a place in Dubai (can't put my hands on where specifically). It's such a familiar scent that just makes me feel content and like I am at home although I really am not. They do make candle jars but sadly not one in this scent, as soon as they sell them in bigger jars I will definitely be purchasing those!

I bought this Davines OI Conditioner when I got my hair cut and I heard Zoe (Zoella) rave about this in her favorites video and I now understand why. This is like no other conditioner I've used before, it works wonders for my hair. It leaves it feeling so smooth and shiny. I tend to use this every Monday after Zumba when I've sweated a lot and my hair gets tangled and dehydrated. It isn't the cheapest of all conditioners (20€) but it is worth it for a product like this!

Next on the list has been my Happiness Planner! I cannot stress enough on how great this planner is! It has helped me stay so organized and productive too. I am now realizing how it's also helped me stay calm and less anxious too as I can know what things I have to do during the day, week and month without keeping it all convoluted in my head.

TV

I really shouldn't be adding another TV show to my list at this point in my life but oh well, I did. (posts on TV shows I watch here and here
Initially, I was going to wait till summer to start watching Friends (yes I haven't watched it before do not eat me) but I started to watch an episode and surprise! I'm already on the ninth season. It's such a great TV show with an amazing cast that always puts me in a good mood. I cannot go a day without watching at least two episodes and I dread the day where I complete the show.

I've also been enjoying the current season of The Originals a lot! Some of the TV shows I watch have gone downhill (hint: The Vampire Diaries) while others have remained just as good as they always have been. The Originals, though, keeps getting better and I've been loving the plot-line of this season.

MUSIC

Last but not least, is the music that I have been hearing on repeat.

- Piece by Piece (Idol Version) by Kelly Clarkson / Her performance on American Idol got me so emotional, this version of the song is so moving!

The Fosters Presents R+J: A Romeo and Juliet Tale by The Fosters Cast / If you loved High School Musical, you will most likely love this too! The R+J show episode  was the best from the whole TV show as this episode was so different and I love how they brought music into it.

- Aide by Bang La Decks / Ever since me and my sister heard this during a Zumba class we've been searching for it like crazy until we shazamed it one day. This is such a great upbeat song that gets everyone so hyped up, love it!

- Hasta el Amanecer by Nicky Jam / You're going to notice a pattern of how I'm listening to latin music because of Zumba class, some of these songs put me in a great mood! I don't always listen to upbeat songs, but I've been loving them recently! I hardly understand any of the words, love the songs nevertheless.

- Nota de Amor by Wisin & Carlos Vives (feat. Daddy Yankee)

El Perdón by Nicky Jam & Enrique Iglesias

- Dernière Danse by Indila  / A french song this time haha, this is a song we use for cool down and I love it.

- One Dance by Drake / I usually don't listen to Drake, but this is such a good song! I've probably listened to it more than 30 times this week.

One Dance by Drake and Hasta el Amanecer by Nicky Jam | Mashup by Alex Aiono / Two of my favorite songs at the moment in one song sung with a beautiful voice with a great beat to it!

Now that I've overused the word 'love' in this post, hope you enjoyed it and will check out some of the products and songs I've mentioned!

    1. I've actually only tried this cleanser and the toner that comes with it so I wouldn't be the one to turn to for help, I do suggest you try this cleanser though!

  10. I am tempted to purchase the NYX illuminators but am trying so hard to be a good girl. I love L'oreal Telescopic Carbon Black but have since found out that many seems to love the original gold tube better. I had no idea it was discontinued and the ones I saw in the drugstore is the new version.
