Now, I don't know about you guys but after almost every movie I watch I say to myself "this has got to be my favorite movie of the year so far". Guess what? that's exactly what I said after watching this movie too. This time though I searched for the movie releases of 2015 and checked out all the movies I watched this year. After looking at the lists I just knew this would definitely have to be my favorite out of all the other movies I watched.

This movie is based on Emma Donoghue's novel that goes by the same name. I've heard of the book before and remember reading the synopsis about two years ago, not feeling interested by it. Since all of my TV shows are on a hiatus at the moment, I was searching for something to watch when I stumbled upon this movie. The ratings were high so I just decided to watch it without knowing much about it or even watching the trailer. Instantly after watching the movie, I regret not giving the book a try. If you're a reader, I would suggest reading the book before watching the movie.

This is such a masterpiece, so powerful. You will laugh and cry. The cinematography was just as beautiful as the storyline and the acting. It focuses on such a dark subject that will be touching and at the same time disturbing to anyone. I do not want to give much away about the movie hence the vague synopsis. This is a must-see. Going into this movie without knowing too much like I did, is the best way to go. I hope those of you who haven't already watched it will end up watching it and if you do please come back and share your thoughts!

  24. Most of my tv series are currently in between seasons too and so I'm also finding myself trying out new films. I've heard really good things about this movie (funnily enough over the past few days) and so I may well give it a go!
